In 1999, we opened a small boutique on a quiet street in Charleston, South Carolina. With little more than determination, a handful of handmade racks, and a deep love for timeless style, we laid the foundation for what would one day become Susan & Mary Charleston.

As sisters, we brought together our different strengths — fresh energy, new ideas, and the same devotion to creating clothing that celebrates women as they are. Together, we grew the boutique into something far greater than we could have ever imagined.

What began as a small neighborhood shop soon became a place where women of all generations come not only to find clothing, but also to feel seen, valued, and beautiful.

We built Susan & Mary Charleston on care, trust, and the belief that clothing should never overpower a woman, but rather highlight her natural confidence and grace. Every piece was chosen with intention, and every guest was welcomed with warmth. In time, what started as a store became a community.

From the very beginning, quality and authenticity have been at the heart of everything we do. We select fabrics that feel as good as they look, pay close attention to every detail, and collaborate only with makers who share our passion for excellence. Now, more than three decades later, that same spirit lives on in every stitch, every collection, and every welcome we extend. A lot has changed since 1999, but the heart of Susan & Mary Charleston remains the same: a brand born from our dream, built with our vision, and dedicated to women everywhere.
